BALTIMORE - Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) is preparing now for heavy rain and wind.

The company announced Thursday they are closely monitoring approaching weather systems.

Weather patterns are expected to change Thursday into Friday and Saturday. BGE hopes by preparing early, the impact on customers will be minimized. The company also hopes customers will be proactive as the storms approach.

"Just as BGE proactively prepares for the potential of weather-related outages, it is equally important that our customers consider what steps they might need to take to prepare their families and homes prior to any impending weather, particularly where it concerns the availability of electricity," said BGE vice president Jeannette M. Mills.

Customers are encouraged to call the BGE automated outage line at 877-778-2222 to report an outage or issue.
