ABC2 cameras were rolling as Aria White's mom got news daughter was found

COCKEYSVILLE, Md. (WMAR) - Update | Baltimore County police tell ABC2 News the girl's 23-year-old boyfriend was arrested.  David C. Givens, of the 3700-block of Timahoe Circle in  Nottingham, is charged with lying to police.

Police say they stopped at Givens' home on December 26th and asked him about Aria's whereabouts.  

He said she was not there, but police learned from the landlord that the teen had been there for a few days.

Givens told police on Christmas Day, a woman picked up Aria in the morning.

But when police returned to the boyfriend's home today, Aria was there.

Police say Givens was released on his own recognizance.

The picture of a Baltimore County teenager went viral Wednesday after a national group helped spread the word she was missing and potentially in danger after she didn’t return home after shopping Saturday. 

Aria White’s family worried for five days about where she was, but the Cockeysville teenager is now at home.  ABC2 News was there as White’s family got the news she was safe. 

The anguish built up over the course of five days was just too much for Kristi Fleming to hold in, telling us, “I just want her home.  I just want her here.”

But with just one phone call Thursday morning, Fleming’s nightmare was over.  Baltimore County detectives contacted her to say Fleming’s 17-year-old daughter was safe. 

The news and the emotions that came with it were overwhelming for Fleming, who says she has spent the better part of the holiday sleepless, wondering what happened to her teenage daughter.  Aria Michelle White was reported missing three days before Christmas. 

But as we talked about the Dulaney Valley High School senior, police called to relay good news.  Fleming says, “My heart stopped.  I couldn't believe it.  It almost didn't seem real."

But Baltimore County police confirm Aria was located Thursday at her boyfriend's apartment in White Marsh.  The 17-year-old's disappearance was publicized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and had gone viral in recent days.  White’s picture was shared dozens of times on Facebook, with friends and family asking for prayers and information.  Fleming was thinking the worst, “You don't know what to do.  Everything goes through your mind, because you just don't know."

Now Fleming knows for sure.  She heard her daughter’s voice in a phone call that came just moments after the call from police, telling Aria she was missed, “We were so worried." 

Baltimore County police say White was not in danger.
