ESSEX, Md. (WMAR) - Three people were burned after their boat exploded at the Baltimore Yacht Club in Essex Saturday afternoon.
Baltimore County Fire officials say the the burn victims were on the boat at the time of the explosion that sent them flying into the water.
Two women suffered minor burn injuries, and a man is recovering from burns described as serious.
The three victims were rushed to the Bayview Burn Center at Johns Hopkins where they are being treated for their injuries.
Hazmat crews were called to the scene because of fuel in the water.
The Baltimore Yacht Club is located at Sue Creek on Sue Island.
The burned boat is partially sunken and will have to be salvaged.
Fire investigators are working to figure out what caused the boat to blow up.
