BALTIMORE - Some local student athletes are taking their sport to the extreme to try and help wounded service men and women.
“Shootout for Soldiers” started Thursday morning at The Boy's Latin School of Maryland in North Baltimore. It's a 24 hour lacrosse game. Students are raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project.
The event was spearheaded by Tyler Steinhardt, a recent high school graduate. This is the first year for the event.
Any proceeds they make from the event will go to Wounded Warrior Project. The goal is to raise $50,000.
