1 dead in head-on motorcycle crash

COCKEYSVILLE, Md. -

A motorcyclist is dead and another man is seriously injured after a head-on crash Saturday morning.

Police said the crash happened just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Shawan Road and Beaver Dam Road.

A preliminary investigation found that a motorcycle was driving east on Shawan Road just east of Beaver Dam Road when its driver lost control and slammed into a Toyota 4Runner driving west on Shawan Road.

First responders pronounced the man on the bike dead at the scene. His name is not being released until family is notified.

The driver of the 4Runner, identitifed only as an adult man, was taken to Shock Trauma with serious injuries. An adult woman and two juveniles riding in the car were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
