BALTIMORE - Just two blocks up from Pratt St., the signs of purple are replaced by yellow crime tape.  Around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, police say a fight happened at the corner of Howard and Fayette Streets.

"They had ambulances.  They were putting one person in and they were trying to revive him," said one witness who goes by Jay.

Three people were stabbed all between the ages of 15 and 16 years old.  Police say one went into cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital and died.  Another was downgraded to critical condition.  The third is in serious condition.

"Most of them was going out from McDonald's and they were running behind each other," said Sherif Heshmat, a witness.

The McDonald's shutdown for the afternoon, but a spokesperson said the stabbing was outside of the restaurant.

"What we know thus far is that it is an isolated incident.  The victims knew their attackers.  We believe this stemmed from a dispute," said Anthony Guglielmi, Baltimore police spokesman.

Cameras on the street corners are helping out homicide detectives.  They are looking for at least one suspect.

"Violence again, even with the deterrent of police officers and helicopters and people celebrating, individuals still have to resort to violence over something so incredibly petty," said Guglielmi.

City police had a stepped-up presence for the parade, something they started planning weeks before the Ravens won.  But still, violence managed to take a young life.

"They had us blocked off.  They had everything blocked off.  They stopped everything.  They stopped the light rail, they stopped everything," said Jay.

Police say cameras in the area have given them "optimistic leads."
