BALTIMORE - Baltimore Police are still investigating, but say that a 14-year-old girl was behind the wheel when the minivan she was driving plunged into Lake Montebello Tuesday.
According to police, the teen driver was being taught how to drive at the time of the accident.
She was in the van with it's owner, her aunt, and her aunt's mother when she accidentally hit the gas sending the van into a gate and then the water.
All three of the people in the van were able to get out safely and were not injured.
Police plan to charge the girl's aunt, the owner of the van, with traffic violations including knowingly permitting a person under the age of 15 to operate a motor vehicle.
