Thursday brought a big surprise for students at Sarah M. Roach Elementary School. The school is one of 100 across the country to receive a $25,000 grant from Target.
The grant is part of the Target Initiative and was showcased Thursday with the Target bulls eye bus and Disney actress Bridget Mendler.
School officials say they plan to use the money on technology, books and other needs. The school’s principal is thrilled for her students and staff.
“My babies deserve… They deserve it,” said principal Renata Plummer.
Target is also giving up to 2.5 million gift cards to local schools through votes on its Facebook page.
