BALTIMORE - For the third time in four years, the home of the Baltimore Ravens will be transformed from a football stadium to a soccer mecca.

The Baltimore Ravens, Maryland Stadium Authority, and Maryland Office of Sports Marketing have announced that two of the top teams in England's Barclays Premier League will square off at M&T Bank Stadium's field this summer.

Tottenham and Liverpool will do battle in a preseason game on July 28 in Baltimore. The game marks a return of international soccer to M&T Bank Stadium after no game was played last summer.

"We are thrilled to bring the world's best soccer back to Baltimore," said Baltimore Ravens' President Dick Cass in a statement. "This match is another fantastic special event that we are bringing to our city and as these events continue to succeed we will continue to bring them to the fans of Baltimore."

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club was founded in 1882 and is located in North London. They have won two leage titles, eight FA Cups, four League Cups, and two UEFA cups along with the European Cup Winners' Cup.

Tottenham also features one of the top U.S. born goalies in the world in Brad Friedel. He currently holds the record for the most consecutive appearances in Premiere League action at 304. The 39 year old has done that with three different teams including Tottenham. He also once played for Liverpool.

Liverpool Football Club has won eighteen League titles, the second most in English football. They have also won FA Cups and a record eight League Cups. The "Reds" have won more European titles than any other English club, with five European Cups, three UEFA Cups, and three European Super Cups.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, July 28 at 1:00 PM at M&T Bank Stadium. That is a few hours before a Baltimore Orioles home game against the Oakland Athletics. Cass points out the Orioles have been integral in helping bring the soccer match to Baltimore.

"I want to send a special thanks to our neighbors, the Baltimore Orioles, for allowing the match to take place just hours before one of their homes games. Their willingness to work with us is greatly appreciated."
