Police investigate two overnight shootings

BALTIMORE (WMAR) -  

Baltimore City Police are investigating two overnight shootings. 

The first shooting happened in the 2900 block of Arunah Avenue.  Police were called to University Hospital at about 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

The 23-year-old victim found his way to the hospital after being shot in the face.  He told investigators that he was involved in an altercation with another man.

The unknown suspect shot the victim and left the scene.

The second shooting happened around midnight.  Officers responded to the 1800 block of Baker Street where they found a 26-year old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower back.

The victim told investigators that he was involved in a fight with a suspect.

During the altercation, the suspect pulled out a handgun. The victim attempted to run, but was shot by the suspect.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
