Baltimore - It was a dog's life for a pit bull that was found covered in paint. Now he has a new life. In the last few months, we've heard horror stories about dogs being abused and even killed in Baltimore city. But one of the dogs we told you about is getting a second chance. ABC2 News Joce Sterman has more on Picasso's fresh start.
Picasso's past was a mystery. She showed up in a Baltimore shelter back in March covered in paint. Her sad eyes told a story no one knew. But that pit bull has kissed her painful past goodbye with the help of a new owner, Parkville's Rob Clarke. He says, "It was pretty sad story but she came out of it pretty resilient."
In fact, Picasso seems to be unphased by what she's been through. But Rob keeps it in mind, knowing that a rescued dog needs a little more TLC. He explains, "It's a lot of work. It's not for everybody. But if you have the time and you have the patience, it's really rewarding."
Picasso and Rob have been together since mid-April but it didn't that long for them to reach a level of comfort with each other. Rob says she was like a member of the family after just a couple of days, “Probably just two days and she was like, ‘This is my couch. This is my house’. She was having fun."
Picasso has brushed away the scars from her ordeal and she now loves her new leash on life. Clarke says, "There are two speeds with her. There's off and there's full speed. There's not really anything in between."
And there's no in between when it comes to the love between this pup and her new owner. It's a happy ending for a dog whose tale had a sad start.
