BALTIMORE (WMAR) - The team is back in town, and while it's not for a championship series, Orioles fans make them feel like winners.

"I think this is a small description of how this year has been," said Orioles Center Fielder Adam Jones.  "Appreciation.  The fans have appreciated us," he said.

A few hundred people lined up at Camden Yards and waited until about 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

They waited despite a disappointing loss in New York that ended the Post Season run.

"I saw Nick Markakis, Mark Reynolds, Chris Davis, Ryan Flaherty, Robert Andino," said Drew Saul of Linthicum.

A wait well worth it.  These fans have never been so close to their heroes.

Friday night wasn't enough for some fans.  They went back on Saturday to get a glimpse of players who are coming to clean out their lockers.

Catcher Matt Wieters says the time off is shorter this season.

"We'll take a couple weeks off and not pick up any kind of baseball or anything like that for a couple weeks," said Wieters.  "Then once November gets here, it's back into getting into shape and getting the body feeling good," he said.

The 2012 season will be remembered as one that brought baseball back to Baltimore.
