Officer suspended amid sex allegations

BALTIMORE (WMAR) -
A Baltimore City Police Officer has been suspended from the force after allegations of a sexual abuse.
The Harford County Child Advocacy Center confirms that Roberto Santiago is being investigated after they received a complaint from the Bridgeport Police Department about an alleged sexual offense.
Officials say a girl had been visiting family friends in Edgewood when she was reportedly sexually assaulted by Santiago.
Santiago had previously been suspended from the Baltimore City Police force in June for an alleged assaulted his neighbor. A trial date for that misdemeanor offense has been set for November 28. Santiago is a 10-year veteran of the City Police force.
The allegations come on the heels of two other City Police Officer's suspension in the last week.
On Monday, Officer Elliott Simon, a 13-year veteran of the force was also suspended and facing possible criminal charges for an alleged sexual misconduct between an 18-year-old female and the then on-duty officer.
Late last week one other City Officer was suspended pending the outcome of an FBI investigation. The circumstances of that case have not yet been released.
