BALTIMORE - A big construction project at the National Aquarium in Baltimore.

The new Black Tip reef exhibit will feature all kinds of animals, including Black Tip Reef Sharks and Whiptail Rays.

The exhibit opens next summer.

Emily Anderson is learning quickly what it's like to be a new mother.

"They're my livelihood, they are why I go to work every day."

The hardest part is getting them to take their vitamins.

"He's just like a child he doesn't eat on time all the time."

"Sometimes I'll yell at them if they're not behaving or not eating, but it doesn't really get me very far."

These are just some of her children, Black Tip Reef Sharks.

"So these are specific vitamins just for sharks and sting rays."

Ensuring that all the animals get their vitamins is a major part of Emily's Day.

Oddly enough, she forgets to take her own.

"No.  I should, I always forget."

The sharks are part of a new exhibit at the Baltimore Aquarium which will replace "Wings In The Water."

The nearly 30-year-old tank needed some vital repairs, and Tim Pula figured now would be the best time to build a new attraction.

"So literally visitors will be able to walk out into the tank."

Construction will end next year, and until then, the animals water here.

They're on a mandatory quarantine to ensure they don't spread disease to the other wildlife at the aquarium.

And while they wait for their new home, they receive better care than most people.

"These sharks are healthier and eating better than I am."

"I know a lot of people would probably be grossed out by this, but all in a days work."

A labor of love for a creature that would terrify most.

"I know about them and I love them so I'm not too scared to jump in with 20 reef sharks feeding them, that to me is a good time."

And a good time for visitors as they watch safely next summer.
