Baltimore - The National Aquarium will celebrates its 30 year legacy with a look ahead to its future.
Since opening in 1981, the National Aquarium has been a world-class entertainment attraction dedicated to inspiring people to enjoy, respect and protect the aquatic world through its living collection of over 16,000 animals, and dynamic education and conservation programs.
On Thursday, the National Aquarium will look back on its 30-year legacy and will make a major announcement regarding its future with the launch of the National Aquarium Conservation Center.
Through pioneering science and partnerships with like-minded organizations, the National Aquarium Conservation Center will focus its efforts on the protection of aquatic ecosystems worldwide. Aquarium officials say they are also working on projects concerning oil spill management, aquaculture, dolphin protection and ocean advocacy.
