BALTIMORE -

A mother accused of an unimaginable crime is due in court today.

Police say Nicole Fitzgerald killed her 2-year-old son.

The 32-year-old is facing a slew of charges, including first and second degree murder and child abuse.

Officers found Fitzgerald's son at her home last month. Police believe he died from a stab wound to the neck.

Fitzgerald was also treated for cuts on her neck. Police arrested her once she was released from the hospital.

Today's hearing is to determine whether there's enough evidence against Fitzgerald to go to trial.
