BALTIMORE (WMAR) - Nearly 30 dead fish were found dead in a Baltimore lake this week.

Maryland Department of the Environment spokesperson, Jay Apperson says crews found 29 dead fish, 27 blue gill Sun Fish and 2 large mouth Bass, were found dead in the Patterson Park Boat Lake.

The fish kill is said to be part of chronically low oxygen levels in the lake that could have been caused by an algae bloom.

Officials say there is nothing toxic in the water and it is safe.
