BALTIMORE - The grand opera once again returns to the Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric.  The inaugural season begins in November with three of the most beloved operas.

Verdi's La Traviata runs November 4th and 6th, 2011; Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro March 9th and 11th, 2012 and Gounod's Faust April 20th and 22nd, 2012.

Each production will feature casts of international fame. You can catch the productions at the newly renovated and modernized Performing Arts Center.

"The BSO's partnership with the Lyric Opera Baltimore is an exciting way to establish world class grand opera in Baltimore. We are very happy to be involved at the launch of the new company and look forward to being part of a long healthy future for opera in Baltimore," said Paul Meecham, President and CEO of the BSO.

On March 12th, the Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric will present a free opera season musical preview featuring selected principal artists from the upcoming season and accompanied by Artistic Director James Harp.
