Baltimore - Federal, state and local officials will visit Baltimore's farmers' market to highlight the market using wireless technology to accept nutrition assistance through the Electronic Benefit Transfer system.
U.S. Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan, Maryland Agriculture Secretary Buddy Hance and Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will attend Sunday's farmers' market under the Jones Falls Expressway downtown.
Participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can use EBT to make purchases at the farmers' market.
