Maryland Zoo's snowy owl dies in surgery

BALTIMORE - A 4-year-old snowy owl at the Baltimore Zoo has died.
Sophie died during surgery Saturday. According to the Zoo, the owl had reoccurring medical problems.
A necropsy, which is an autopsy for animals, will be performed to determine the exact cause of Sophie's death.
This is the second snowy owl to die in the last five months. A lame snowy owl died from medical issues in November.
