Johns Hopkins medical school president to retire

BALTIMORE - The president and CEO of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine has announced plans to retire next year.
Dr. Edward Miller, who is also the CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine, is leaving on June 30, 2012. Johns Hopkins University President Ronald Daniels announced Miller's retirement in an e-mail to staff and faculty.
Sixty-eight-year-old Miller is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. A native of
Rochester, N.Y., Miller received his M.D. at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He was chief resident in anesthesiology at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston and a research fellow in physiology at Harvard Medical School.
