BALTIMORE (WMAR) - A Baltimore City Judge sentenced Thomas Green today for hitting two Johns Hopkins University students with his car before leaving the scene.
On May 7, 2011, Green hit two victims, both students, as they were crossing 33rd Street at St. Paul Street. He then drove away from the scene of the accident.
Today, Green pled guilty to two counts of failing to immediately stop his vehicle as close as possible to the scene of the accident that resulted in serious bodily injuries and causing a life-threatening injury as a result of negligent driving while impaired by alcohol.
Green, 37, received a 3 year prison sentence, all of it suspended and 3 years of supervised probation. He must also undergo alcohol treatment, and his car will now be equipped with a device that prevents a driver who has been drinking from operating the vehicle
