How much are Maryland's deficient roads costing you?

BALTIMORE - The longer Maryland waits to repair its roads, the more money it will cost you.

A recent report from Maryland Transportation by the Numbers (TRIP) found that Baltimore drivers lose nearly $1,800 year because of deficient roads.  That adds up to $6.2 billion in Maryland.

The report found that:

  • More that two-fifths of the state's major locally and state-maintained roads are in mediocre or poor condition.
  • One fourth of the bridges need repair or replacement, and
  • State's drivers are experiencing increasingly worsened congestion
  • Rural roads in Maryalnd have higher fatality rates than all other roads in the state
