BALTIMORE - The Baltimore City Fire Department is investigating a possible meth lab in south east Baltimore after neighbors complained of a strange smell.
According to fire officials, neighbors called to complain of a natural gas smell coming from 3317 McElderry Street in southeast Baltimore. BGE was unable to get into the building so they called the fire department.
When firefighters arrived and got into the building they found what they believed to be a methamphetamine lab. The Hazmat Task unit is on the scene checking air and chemical levels.
Fire officials said that there is not an imminent threat of explosion and that neighbors are not in danger.
Baltimore City Police are assisting the fire department with the investigation.
