BALTIMORE - A two-story fire broke out shortly before 5 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Rosedale Ave, near Gwynns Falls Park.
According to fire spokesperson Chief Kevin Cartwright, one woman is dead and another hurt. The injured person is going to the Bayview Burn Center.
Cartwright said that the women were mother and daughter. They are not sure which one died and which was injured.
One woman suffered smoke inhalation and thermal burns, and was rescued, then treated on the scene, then taken to Bayview for an evaluation. The second woman was found in the home.
The fire was contained to that home. Crews are not sure if the home had working smoke alarms. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
