BALTIMORE - Philanthropists Eddie and Sylvia Brown are the Marylanders of the Year.
The couple has given more than $22 million dollars to various charities over the past 15 years.
Today the Maryland Historical Society awarded the Browns "Marylanders of the Year."
The Browns established a charity foundation, The C. Sylvia and Eddie C. Brown Family Foundation in 1996.
The couple's $1 million challenge grant gift to the Enoch Pratt Library is the largest donation extended to the library in its 129 year history.
The Browns also underwrote a number of full scholarships for African American students to attend MICA.
