BALTIMORE - A 6-year-old child is in the hospital after being hit by a police car in West Baltimore, police say.

It happened in the 1400-block of West Saratoga Street just before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Police cannot confirm if they officer was answering a call when the crash happened or not.

The child was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
