BALTIMORE - Baltimore middle school students are competing to build the city of the future.

The students will be at Baltimore's Museum of Industry on Saturday presenting their table-top models for the judges.

The winning team will represent Baltimore in February at the Future City national finals in Crystal City, Va.

The winning team will be one of 36 finalists competing for the national title.

The theme of this year's competition is "Fuel Your Future," how cities can meet their energy needs while maintaining a healthy planet.

Student teams work with an educator and mentor to plan their cities using computer software, research and develop a solution to an engineering problem and build scale models with recycled materials.
