BALTIMORE, MD - Baltimore City Is taking steps to make sure citizens are healthy with a new Initiative.
Today Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake announced the Nations First Healthy City Days.
The goal is to encourage citizens to make healthy lifestyle choices by eating right, exercising and knowing their health numbers.
The new Health Commissioner and Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice were on hand to support the event.
"This Is part of an effort to join with our partners Care First, University of Maryland, Giant ... All of these are great to create a healthier city," said Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
"You don't have to be a professional athlete for your health to be a concern. You can be a normal human being growing up. One thing about it is your health and it's a group effort and I think its very Important," said Ray Rice with the Baltimore Ravens.
Healthy City Days starts on September 27Th Through October 1St.
Free activities will be available to promote healthy living.
