Baltimore City's Mayor wants to increase the bottle tax from two cents to five cents.
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake says the money is needed for school construction and renovations.
Today, the mayor toured John Eager Howard Elementary where she showed how much the school needs the funds.
The mayor's efforts to get the general assembly to pass the measure as it relates to school construction failed earlier this year.
