BALTIMORE - Baltimore City's Circuit Court is launching a new jury management system to streamline the process for prospective jurors.

The system, which will include a newly designed one-step summons-questionnaire, will go into effect February 13th.

The new system is supposed to save time for jurors.

It will use bar scanning, imaging, and internet access and processing all aimed at making summoning and scheduling of jurors more efficient.

Once the system is launched, people living in Baltimore City should receive a summons and questionnaire by mail at the same time, and they will have the option of filling out the questionnaire online.

Potential jurors should also be able to go online and move their report date once, if needed, to another day that is more convenient.

More information about the new system can be found on the court's website at www.baltocts.state.md.us/jury/index.
