BALTIMORE (WMAR) - The proposed Baltimore casino is one step closer to becoming a reality.

On Tuesday, the Maryland Video Lottery Facility Location Commission voted to approve Caesars Entertainment Corporation's license to operate the facility.

The casino has been approved by the Commission operate 3,750 slot machines at the site.

The casino will be built at the site of the old Maryland Chemical Company, just south of M&T Bank Stadium on Russell Street. Construction is expected to be completed and the casino open sometime in 2014.

In 2008, Maryland voters approved an amendment allowing a total of 5 casino locations. Four others have already been given licenses.
