Baltimore Arena turns 50

BALTIMORE -
The Baltimore Clippers hockey team was the first to use 1 st Mariner Arena. The team started exactly 50 years ago, at time the arena was called the Baltimore Civic Center.
The arena has hosted the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, and reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.
This past year it was the seventh highest grossing arena of its size.
This week it hosts nine performances of Disney on Ice.
While there have been talks to build a larger arena, the new project looks unlikely before 2016.
