BALTIMORE - Students and staff from School of The Cathedral will gather at Cathedral of Mary Our Queen for a special Mass Thursday.

Today's ceremony is being held in tribute to Pope Benedict XVI, who steps down at the end of the day.

The service will end at 2:00 pm.

Employees at the Archdiocese's central services offices will watch a live coverage of the Pope's Farewell ceremonies in Rome.

Pope Benedict will depart from the Vatican on a helicopter.

He will keep his name "His Holiness, Benedict XVI."

His ring, called the "Fisherman's Ring," will be destroyed along with the lead seal of his pontificate.

Cardinals are heading to Rome for meetings and to vote for his replacement.

The conclave will likely start next week.
