Apples and Oranges bringing healthier options to East Baltimore

BALTIMORE - From Michelle Obama to celebrities there's been such a push to get kids to eat healthier and it all starts at home.
The problem is there's not always access to healthy food in cities. That's been a complaint for many Baltimore families.
That could change for some families in East Baltimore.
Apples and Oranges Fresh Market is a new story set to open on Saturday in East Baltimore.
This new full service grocery store will offer fresh and healthy food options.
It will also bring a healthier lifestyle. This area is considered a food desert, which is a challenge in underserved communities. Gaining access to fresh foods can be a challenge for some people in the area.
Many are elderly and have limited transportation and this new market is a welcome change. This community needs access to healthy food.
The store is located at 1900 N. Broadway Street.
