BALTIMORE (WMAR) -
Dozens of people ran for charity this morning, but ABC2's Cheryl Conner kicked up dust -- making a clean sweep to the finish line.
Conner was running for a charity close to her heart called, Girls on the Run, a charity that trains third, fourth, and fifth graders to excel as people first, runners second.
The girls know her as Coach Conner, and she made them proud - finishing the race in one hour and thirty minutes.
Then, there was the small challenge of raising the money. She did that too.
Conner received one dollar for every runner she passed, and she passed thousands -- 4, 034 runners to be exact.
Organizers made the deal even sweeter when they cut a check for $4,034.
This is just another way this ABC2 News is working for you and your community.
