Baltimore marks Lent with tasty hot cross buns

BALTIMORE - On this first day of Lent, Baltimore Catholics continue a traditon. In the heart of Highlandtown, Hoehns Bakery is busy baking hot cross buns.
As part of the Catholic tradition, the Priest would give the parishoners the buns at the beginning of Lent.
Everything at the bakery is made fresh everyday.
Hoehns Bakery is in the heart of Highlandtown at Conkling and Bank Street . It has been a nieghborhood staple, family-owened and operated since 1927.
