ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) -  

Anne Arundel County Police and Maryland Occupational Safety and Health officials are investigating the death of a contracted worker that was killed by a falling tree.
 
Fire and emergency personnel responded to the 1600 block of Homewood Road in Annapolis for reports of a tree falling on someone. 
 
The first arriving medical units found a man in his late 40's or early 50's that had been hit by a tree. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 
 
Officials say the man was part of a crew that was contracted to clean up downed trees in the area.
