GLEN BURNIE, Md. - Anne Arundel County authorities identified a 50-year-old woman who died after a fire in a Glen Burnie home.
Fire officials say Shari Lee DeStefano died at Baltimore Washington Medical Center at 12:14 a.m. on Saturday.
Firefighters were called to the house in the Marley area Friday night after neighbors reported the fire. Anne Arundel County fire department division chief Keith Swindle says the woman was found in the basement of the house.
Officials say nine adults and two children have been displaced by the fire. The home had been divided into multiple units.
It took nearly 50 firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. This is the second fatal fire in the county this year.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it is believed to be accidental.
