ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -

The superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy says the school has plans to create a Navy football hall of fame.

Vice Adm. Michael Miller mentioned the plans at a meeting of the Board of Visitors on Monday in Annapolis. His announcement comes just days before this year's Army-Navy football game, one of the most famous rivalries in sports.

Miller says it will go in Ricketts Hall, which has a prominent location on the academy grounds by the water.

The superintendent also noted that other Navy sports would be represented in the hall of fame.

Miller says celebrating the school's storied athletic history is a strong way to attract students. Miller says he does not have a firm timetable for when the hall of fame would open.
