DEALE, Md. (WMAR) - While some drivers were traveling to their weekend destinations, three women from Deale had their weekends cut short.
Anne Arundel County Police continue investigating a deadly crash that left two women dead and one injured Saturday morning.
Police said they responded to a call at 8:04 a.m. for a report of a car crash at Rt. 258 and Rockhold Creek Road in Deale.
When officers arrived they found a two car crash that appeared to be a head-on collision.
A 32-year-old woman, Sara Cassidy, who was trapped inside of her 1998 Lexus, and 69-year-old Frances Shryock-Hesson, a passanger who was ejected from a 2004 Honda, were pronounced dead on the scene.
Janice Hollabaugh, 20, was driving the 2004 Honda, had to be rescued from the car and flown to the Prince Georges Hospital Center where she is now in stable condition.
An initial investigation by a crash team revealed that Cassidy was driving east on Bay Front Road East when she drove partially off the right side of the road into the grass.
Anne Arundel County describes that Cassidy overcorrected and drove into the westbound lane striking Shryock-Hesson and Hollabaugh head-on.
Investigators are still working to determine in speed or alcohol were factors in this deadly accident.
