A box truck and an Anne Arundel County police car collided Saturday afternoon sending both drivers to the hospital police said.

Lt. Glen Shanahan, Anne Arundel County police spokesman, said investigators are working to figure out what caused the crash on Interstate 97 and Route 100 around 3 p.m. Saturday.

The driver of the truck was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The male officer was taken to Shock Trauma as a precaution, but had no visible injuries, Shanahan said.
