The first three cases of West Nile Virus , commonly spread by mosquitoes, were confirmed last week in Baltimore. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outline that most people infected by West Nile Virus will show no symptoms, although one in five may develop a fever. Less than 1 percent however can develop a serious or sometimes fatal neurological illness.
The first three cases of West Nile in Maryland prompt the question: Do you know how to protect yourself from this potentially harmful virus?
The Anne Arundel County Department of Health sent out the following helpful tips to ensure West Nile does not pose a threat to your health.
