ARNOLD, Md. (WMAR) -

An early morning 2-alarm fire has displaced an Arnold family.

Just before 7:00 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 1000 block of Deep Creek Avenue for reports of a fire. First arriving units reported fire on the first floor and the attic of a single family waterfront home.

The 2-alarm fire was brought under control in about an hour with the help of Anne Arundel County, Annapolis and Naval Academy Fire crews.

The two homeowners, who were alerted by the odor of smoke and smoke alarms were able to escape the blaze unharmed.

Damage to the home is estimated at $100,000, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
