RIVIERA BEACH, Md. (WMAR) - An 89-year-old woman is recovering after being bitten by a pit bull Wednesday afternoon.
According to Anne Arundel County Fire authorities, the woman was standing near a gate in her yard when a pit bull jumped and bit her upper arm.
The incident happened in the 200 Block of Arundel Road in Riviera Beach.
The victim has been transported to the Curtis Hand Center at Union Memorial Hospital.
Although her injuries are not life-threatening, authorities describe the woman to be "severely bitten."
Animal Control has taken the dog into custody.
