BALTIMORE (WMAR) -

Maryland State Police have released a description of a suspect vehicle as they continue to search for the driver who hit and killed a Laurel man early Saturday morning on I-295.

Henry Smith, 71, was hit and killed at about 3:00 a.m. as he walked in or near northbound I-295 near I-695. The driver of the vehicle that struck Smith left the scene.

The responding trooper found Smith lying dead in the fast lane of I-295.

A possible vehicle is described as a light blue Toyota car. The car had a left headlight out and the front bumper was dragging on the road. It was traveling north on I-295 with its flashers on and apparently exited onto Waterview Avenue in the Westport area of Baltimore.

Anyone who may have information on the owner or location of the vehicle, or who may have seen it in the early morning hours of Saturday, December 1, is asked to call police at 410-761-5130.
