It may be freezing out, but that’s not going to stop hundreds of people of all ages from going swimming.
This weekend is the 17 th annual Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point Beach.
On Friday, some offices in the area will close early to participate in the corporate plunge. Then on Saturday it’s Plungefest 2013.
It’s a quick swim in the Chesapeake Bay to raise money for Special Olympics Maryland.
Those attending are invited to show their purple pride in honor of the Ravens.
Quarterback Joe Flacco usually embraces the cold for this event, but he won’t be there because he will be preparing for the Super Bowl.
