GLEN BURNIE, Md. - Anne Arundel County Police are still investigating a multi-vehicle head-on collision that sent four people to local hospitals Saturday.

According to police, a 21-year-old man driving a Mercury Cougar was driving recklessly Saturday afternoon before hitting a Toyota Corolla head-on.

Police believe that the driver of the Mercury, 21-year-old Patrick Ryan Galliher, was driving on Marley Neck Boulevard,  and passing other vehicles, when he crossed over the yellow line on the road and hit the Toyota Corolla driven by 36-year-old Saulius Kasiulionis.

The Toyota was then hit by a Nissan Murano driving behind it and a Mercedes SUV that had been driving behind them as well.

Galliher, who police believe was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the car and taken to Maryland Shock Trauma where he is in serious but stable condition.

Three passengers from the Toyota Corolla, 35-year-old Katarzyna Pawlais, 68-year-old Teresa Monika, and a 3-year-old girl were taken to local hospitals where the two adult victims are in critical condition.

Drivers from the other two vehicles were not hospitalized.

The crash is still under investigation, but preliminary information indicates that excessive speed and driver error on the part of the Mercury Cougar driver, Galliher, were factors in the accident.
