ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The traditional Annapolis Memorial Day parade was once again a success.

Annapolis has a special connection with the military and with 30 units marching with pride, there were plenty of proud families.

Mounted horse units, local bands and the United States Naval Academy band were all on hand for the parade.

Fran Watkins' father was in the Navy band in 1940, so she has a special connection to Annapolis. Fran is now married to James, and has 6 children all of which are very proud of our service men and women. Fran says she has "a big flag over the balcony".

Terry Wire and his family are embracing all the patriotism they can, they just moved to Annapolis. Terry says "this is why we moved here, for events like this".

With the Naval Academy so entrenched in Annapolis, parents make sure their kids understand the sacrifice our soldiers make, because it's so important.

As Naval Officer, Marines and Navy Seals get their start in Annapolis, Memorial Day always has a special meaning in the town.
