New Chief of Staff appointed in Arundel

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) -  

The new Anne Arundel County Executive has named a new Chief of Staff. 
 
County Executive Laura Neuman announced that David Cordle has been named the Chief of Staff. 
 
Cordle's appointment is effective immediately. The new Chief of Staff has served as chief criminal investigator for the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office in his 32 years of experience in government that includes 9 years as an Annapolis alderman. 
 
Cordle will lead an Evaluation Committee to be appointed later this week charged with reviewing individuals and agencies within County government. 
 
"I want to thank County Executive Neuman for entrusting me with this important role in her new Administration," Cordle said. "I'm ready to get to work."
 
Cordle, 55, served three commands in the U.S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 2003. He lives in Annapolis with his wife, Michelle. They have four children.
